Big Idea: 2016 is already full of God’s light and it is yours for the taking.

X2: We are designed to receive, reflect, and be God’s Light.

X3: God’s light wants to shine in us, around us, and through us.

“Darkness” – sin, death, fear, worry, anxiety, shame, loss, grief, hopelessness, anger, inadequacy, etc.

#1: God’s Light is ours to Receive

Jesus came as Light. Kingdom of God is a Kingdom of Light: in us, around us, through

#2: God’s Light is ours to Reflect

“We love because he first loved us.” 1 John 4:19

How do we reflect God’s light? Cel. of Discipline: Simplicity, Submission

Primary way: Example/lifestyle – Would those who know me well say I reflect God’s light?

#3: God’s Light is ours to Be.

Only time Jesus says he and us are the same thing: Our purpose is to shine.

“The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

How do we be light? Stubborn service, Stubborn Hope, Stubborn Love: “Love one another/enemies..”

Mission: Jesus-centered: receive, in the community: reflect, for the community, Be God’s light is here: You are a solar panel, a mirror, flashlight/IR Goggles
