We can be loved in principle or we can be loved with passion

 

Love Languages:

  • Gifts: God gives Jesus (Exchange Gifts at Xmas), Gifts of the Spirit/Fruits of the Spirit
  • Affirming Words: “I have redeemed you, called you by name, you are mine…”, Bible
  • Touch: Body of Christ: Eucharist/Blessing, Body supporting each other
  • Quality Time: God’s Presence: Prayer (Where 2 or 3 are gathered, there I am with them)
  • Acts of Service: Jesus washed disciples’ feet, sacrifices his life on cross so we can have life

 

Jesus said, “Come, folllow me.” Why should I? b/c/ you are _____the one Jesus loves

even though we may waver, doubt, ignore God, He always loves us passionately

 

Let’s look at how this love gets expressed:  Try to see yourselves as these people…

  • Shepherds, James&John Blind beggar, Zaccheus, Samaritan Woman, Crippled man, Woman bleeding for 12 years, CROSS: Centurion

Jesus also loved those who held back!

Rev. Michael Caines

I live to answer the question: “So how did you go from civil engineering to becoming a priest??” I have been here since 2008 when I arrived as the assistant. Since 2012 I have been leading the church as the Priest-in-Charge, and now as the full-time Lead Pastor. I grew up in Sussex, N.B. and then studied Civil Engineering at UNB Fredericton. After a brief period in youth ministry my wife and I moved to Uganda to teach and work at an Anglican Secondary School. After that, I studied at Wycliffe College in Toronto, ON and was ordained in 2008. I served with the Naval Reserve for a number of years but now as the Chaplain for 3 Field Artillery Regiment in Saint John and Woodstock, N.B. I love the outdoors and in my down time I enjoy running, sailing and playing music, but most importantly, time with my family.
