He said, “Call me dad.”
Luke 11:1-13 Sermon Outline – PNSJ 10 a.m. – July 24, 2016
Big Idea: God gives us the world’s greatest gifts by the world’s greatest father – himself
#1: You were designed for prayer
- Jesus said, “When you pray say…”
#2: We pray in a healthy father relationship
- Glimpse/hint of Trinity: Jesus teaching about Father who’s greatest gift will be the Holy Spirit
- We call God father-> RADICALLY GREATER THAN ANY EARTHLY FATHER CAN BE
#3: The greatest Gift our father God could give were Jesus and the Holy Spirit
- “If you who are evil know.. how much more will heavenly father give Holy Spirit who ask..?”
- Give Presence&Peace
- Means Jesus is still able to teach us about prayer ->continuous, close relationship
Romans 8:26-27
- Our heart can pray prayers our words and thoughts can’t always express
Challenge: Today is the Sabbath – there was a time where the whole land would be still/quiet today
Take at least 5 min: Pray something outloud AND deep breath (sighs too deep for words)
- maybe find a prayer online / sneak away to a quiet space in need be
