Parish Update, April 23, 2020

Greetings Friends,     This is a brief note to update you on parish news.  Please let me say a big “Thank you!” to everyone who has been able to continue giving offerings during this time.  We have been blessed with people signing up for E-offering and lots of folks dropping by between 11 a.m. and noon Monday’s and Thursday’s to give offerings.  We have also had people use mail.  It all helps.  Hopefully with the added support of the government benefit we will weather this season successfully.     Our thoughts and prayers are also with the people of Nova Scotia at  this time.  We will be rining our bell in solidarity and sympathy with them at 6 p.m. Friday April 24th along with most other churches in Canada.     Attached is a video that gives the rest of the update.  I pray you are safe and well.  We will do our best to keep staying in touch and supporting each other though this.  Yours in Christ,Mike Caines

I live to answer the question: “So how did you go from civil engineering to becoming a priest??” I have been here since 2008 when I arrived as the assistant. Since 2012 I have been leading the church as the Priest-in-Charge, and now as the full-time Lead Pastor. I grew up in Sussex, N.B. and then studied Civil Engineering at UNB Fredericton. After a brief period in youth ministry my wife and I moved to Uganda to teach and work at an Anglican Secondary School. After that, I studied at Wycliffe College in Toronto, ON and was ordained in 2008. I served with the Naval Reserve for a number of years but now as the Chaplain for 3 Field Artillery Regiment in Saint John and Woodstock, N.B. I love the outdoors and in my down time I enjoy running, sailing and playing music, but most importantly, time with my family.
