How Does It Feel To Be Royalty…
Announcements
Big Idea: It’s time for each of us to live the life of God’s Royalty
X2: We are children of the King of Kings and we are to live like it
#1: The King of Kings has won for us a Royal Lifestyle
- vs. 7: “The Stone the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone.”, “… now you have received mercy.”
- Kingdom emerging based on forgiveness, mercy, unconditional love, sacrifice, service, -> ultimate agenda is to love God and love our neighbor…
- Challenge: tempted/tension between assessing in Kingdom of God and this world
#2: You are an essential member of God’s Royal Priesthood
- Identity fleshed out: “living stones built into a spiritual houseYou are a royal priesthood -> don’t let yourself settle for less/convince not worthy/let fear defeat
#3: God’s Royal lifestyle is both privilege and purpose
- vs. 2: “… crave pure spiritual milk…” -> find two things:
- Privilege: we are raised with Christ, received mercy, God’s presence, grace, eternal life, etc
- Purpose: Two Kinds of Royalty: life selfish privilege OR… beautiful burden of serving the people
- God loves us -> we share it with our neighbor: be good coworker, parent, spouse, show his kindness to others, pray for others, CRAVE Him and his love
- Caution: There are craving competitors:
- JESUS-CENTERED, IN COMMUNITY, FOR COMMUNITY -> Royal Lifestyle
