The Parish of the Nerepis and St. John has two ACW groups, Grand Bay-Westfield and Greenwich (Oak Point).
Grand Bay-Westfield
The Grand Bay-Westfield ACW meets every month with a pot luck lunch. Currently they have 12 members.
Items and Special Functions include:
Donations were given to the following: This year we paid our commitments to the Diocese and also Gave $225.00 to Our fair Share and $50.00 to extra-cent-a-day. We gave $150.00 each to Paul Jeffries and The Farraline Home. We gave $60.00 each to The Salvation Army and Hospice. We held a Ladies Luncheon in April. We had Bobby Hays , from the Joshua Group as a speaker. We donated $295.00 to the Group. This year we gave a total of $770.00.
Greenwich
The Greenwich ACW of St. Paul’s Church meets the second Thursday of each month, for seven months of the year, (do not meet during the winter). Currently they have 17 members.
Items and Special Functions include:
Get well and sympathy cards were sent at times of illness and death. Birthday cards and special anniversary cards are sent to members as well.
Host Lunches and Funeral Receptions
Annual “bring and buy” auction sales (April and October) with proceeds going towards our Christmas Cheer baskets. Approximately thirty one baskets were filled in 2012.
Annual Christmas Tea and Bake Sale (November)
Donations were given to the following: The Diocese of Fredericton, The Parish of the Nerepis & St. John, Primates World Relief, Seaman’s Mission, IWK & Shriner’s Hospitals, Church Army, Elizabeth Fry Society, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 87, Browns Flat School Fun Fair, River Road Food Bank, Greenwich Fire Department, and Run for the Cure.
